His topic, "Security and CI: Defending Against Economic Espionage", will detail how Corporate Intelligence professionals teaming up with Security professionals can counter the rising tide of Economic Espionage. “Corporate intelligence, also known as Competitive Intelligence, is limited by laws, such as the Economic Espionage Act of 1996, as well as ethical guidelines such as those created by the Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals”, McGonagle explains. “Still, CI and Security professionals are usually aware of what is happening in their company before anyone else and are sensitive to anomalous behavior and threats both internal and external to their company.
